Craft

Last week my friend Tess and I embarked upon a two day long crafting mission, and with us being us, this meant visiting virtually every fabrics/craft store in Wellington to prepare. On our adventure we stumbled across an a little gem of an op shop, owned by a costume shop, where they on sell all of their unwanted costumes to new homes (at ridiculously affordable prices).

Lucky for us they had a Retro section.

Meet Tess - Fabrics Queen, fashion diva, fellow crafter and lovely company.

Tess picked up this outrageously adorable polkadot dress for a steal of $8. She reconstructed it by removing the sleeves and waist tie for more of a smock-dress look.

I found and altered this lovely bold floral print dress by shortening it to above the knee, and adding an elasticised waist for more shape. It's thick material is perfect for winter days!

We also visited a store filled with incredibly realistic artificial flowers, which I plan to use for creating some floral crowns (watch this space!).
P.S. I've been having fun experimenting with this multi-image filter effect - Isn't it magical?!
